In summary, PSU has played a multifaceted role in contributing to SDG No. 1 reporting and achieving the goal of ending poverty. Through research, education, community engagement, and partnerships, PSU has made meaningful contributions to poverty reduction efforts and helped monitor progress toward this critical sustainable development goal.

Elite Program in Collaboration with Monsha'at. Monsha'at "Small or Medium Enterprises General Authority" (SMEs) provides job opportunities for the Saudi people and fosters economic empowerment for youth and women. They contribute to the growth and diversity of the economy. Also, they are critical to reduce poverty and contribute to rural and regional development.

Community Engagement:

PSU has been engaged with local communities through outreach programs. These programs are designed to address poverty by providing resources, education, and support to disadvantaged communities.

Winter Donation for AlNahda Charity

Serving the community and meeting their needs is our main aim at the Community Service Unit. Therefore, as part of this ongoing commitment, we have organized Winter Donation initiation in collaboration with AlNahda Charity. In this initiation, we have limited the donations to one item only, which is “new blankets,” as advised by AlNahda charity.

Excel Workshop for Employees of Insan Charity

Through this workshop, basic knowledge of MS Excel was provided to employees of the Insan Charity Organization. All CMP faculty of the female campus were involved in this activity. Attendees were able to grasp basic concepts of MS Excel. They learned how to create spreadsheets and manage them. The session provided the opportunity for attendees to practice learned concepts hands-on.

Technical Workshop for Bunyan Charity

Technical Workshop for Bunyan Charity

The IS department had organized a series of workshops under Community Service titled: “Tech Bootcamp - Bunyan Charity”. Participants are involved in hands-on training/workshops to understand the basic tools and technologies. At the end of the workshop, the participants are able to learn basic tools and technologies for business development, develop a website, google form, and flyers, secure themselves from basic attacks while surfing on social media, and create a database using excel and Microsoft Access.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship:

PSU has fostered innovation and entrepreneurship by supporting students and researchers in developing solutions that address poverty. This includes initiatives that have created jobs, improved access to education and healthcare, and promoted economic empowerment.

Joud is a charitable project which held every semester three several times on a row, the last one was in April 10th, 11th, and 12th 2016, where individuals from community participate in donating electronic devices to CSCEC who will seek for the unfortunate schools to fix and deliver the devices.

Is a charitable idea by two PSU-IS students wanted to help community with their technological knowledge as senior students. By following CSCEC vision to meet community needs, since that time Mishkat was the most popular project among society and PSU students as well where they found Mishkat as an opportunity to express their talents in teaching Charity beneficiaries who are in the same of their age.

Al-Ghamlas presents a lecture entitled (Activating Community Service and Continuing Education Centers in Schools)

His Excellency Eng. Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Ghamlas, Director of Community Service and Continuing Education at the University, gave a lecture entitled (Activating Community Service and Continuing Education Centers in Schools) at the Enterprise Support Center in Riyadh, within the Education Week organized by the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monshaat), and also The Ministry of Education and establishments operating in this sector were invited to present their successful experiences, and Eng. Al-Ghamlas was invited to present the university's experience and demonstrate its distinguished role through community service and continuing education center.
