“AACSB seeks to inspire educators to think globally and demonstrate currency, relevance, and continued excellence in providing business education. A fundamental purpose of AACSB’s accounting accreditation is to challenge accounting educators to pursue that next level of excellence and commitment to continuous improvement,” said Stephanie M. Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB. “We congratulate the Prince Sultan University, Accounting Department Chair Professor Dr. Mohamamd Nurunnabi, PhD (Edinburgh), FAIA(Acad), SFHEA, FRSA, CMBE, CMA, FFA, FIPA, CPA; and the Dean Dr. Saad A. Almosa - College of Business Administration on achieving these goals and thereby earning accounting accreditation. We also applaud the entire business school team—especially the Department of Accounting—for their roles in earning this respected honor.”

Synonymous with the highest standards of quality, AACSB accreditation inspires new ways of thinking within business education globally. As a result, less than 6 percent of the world's schools offering business degree programs hold AACSB business accreditation. Through today’s ratification, a total of 926 institutions across 60 countries and territories have earned AACSB accreditation in business. Furthermore, 189 institutions maintain supplemental AACSB Accounting accreditation for their accounting programs.

“We are extremely happy and proud to earn AACSB Accounting Accreditation and became among only 1 percent of all schools offering accounting degree programs worldwide. Many congratulations to our Accounting Family including faculty, students, alumni, advisory board and staff. We are grateful to the Dean, Vice Dean, President, Vice President and entire PSU family. Today is a very special day for us since we became the first Saudi University, the Second in the Middle East and the Tenth school (outside the United States) to earn both business and accounting accreditation. The Department of Accounting at Prince Sultan University also has earned accreditations from six world-leading international professional bodies: ACCA, AIA, ICAEW, CIMA, CIPFA and IMA. With 100 per cent employment within six months of graduation, 60 percent of the graduates are employed in the Big Four Accounting Firms. In alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, we support and promote higher standards within Saudi Arabia’s accountancy profession. We are offering very market-driven curricula and offer six certifications in addition to a degree like IPSAS, IFRS, Cyber Security, IA, Data Analytics, Taxation,” said Professor Dr. Mohamamd Nurunnabi, PhD (Edinburgh), FAIA(Acad), SFHEA, FRSA, CMBE, CMA, FFA, FIPA, CPA – Chair of Accounting Department at Prince Sultan University.

AACSB accreditation ensures continuous improvement and provides a focus for schools to deliver on their mission, innovate, and drive impact. AACSB-accredited schools have successfully undergone a rigorous review process conducted by their peers in the business education community, ensuring that they have the resources, credentials, and commitment needed to provide students with first-rate, future-focused business education.

To realize accounting accreditation, an institution must first earn or maintain AACSB business accreditation. Then, in addition to developing and implementing a mission-driven plan to satisfy the business accreditation quality standards, accounting accreditation requires the satisfaction of an additional set of accreditation standards that are specific to the discipline and profession of accounting.

“Today’s ratification signals that Prince Sultan University’s College of Business Administration Accounting graduates have completed a program grounded in exceptional technical and foundational skills, and are prepared to assume critical responsibilities that serve the public interest with integrity and professionalism,” said Bryant.
