Message from the Chair
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to a unique B.Sc. Program in Information Systems- “PSU-IS”. The “IS” Program at PSU is well thought out, carefully built “Professional/Business” oriented mix of knowledge units. It has been designed with both technical/business experts and top faculty members from top level international institutions.
The result is an up-to-date unique Program that confirms to current international standards, adapts best practices from both industry and business, and executes very well in the market. The Program is nationally fully-accredited by Saudi NCAAA and ABET. It emphasizes group work, interaction with local/international industry/business worlds, being member of major associations in the field (e.g. “AIS”), adaption of “Learning by Doing”, and activation of quality assurance throughout the Program.
Our faculty members are engaged in state-of-the-art research that has resulted in high impact publications and funded projects in multiple new areas such as Health IT, Cybersecurity, Big Data/Data Science, Human Centered Computing, and Artificial Intelligence.
The Department strives to maintain an enjoyable and highly collaborative environment for research and education and to help researchers and students reach their best potential. We continue to expand and update our curriculum to include topics of current interest and professional certifications of IBM, Oracle, SAP and CAPM.
The department's leadership aims on promising initiatives stemming from the vision of the Kingdom 2030 to raise the quality of the education and linking the department vision and mission with the modern technologies and business sectors.
The faculty members and students actively participate in clubs and professional international chapters AIS, IEEE, ACM, WiDS and WiML.
